The Equipment Room
I am the Owner and Operator of all the gear listed below. I constantly refine my kit as a DoP to ensure that I work as smoothly and quickly as possible in order to focus on the story we are telling.
Zeiss Jena 6-Lens Set (PL-Mount)
Lenses
The Zeiss Jena family are highly adaptable with their small form factor and relatively lightweight, making them perfect for gimbal work and setups in tight spaces. They can be suitable for any production as they are sharp, even wide open, are neutral in color with good contrast, and have beautifully textured bokeh. They are truly made to shoot wide open.
Focal Lengths Include:
20mm T2.8, 25mm T2.8, 35mm T2.4, 50mm T1.8, 80mm T2.8, 135mm T3.5
Full Frame Sensor Coverage
Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro G2
Cinema Camera
This Netflix approved 4.6k Super 35mm Cinema Camera just got added to my kit and it is a great production camera. It has all the goodies that I look for in a camera from Dynamic Range to IO. With built in ND’s and multiple XLR ports, this camera can be used for a variety of productions such as music videos, documentaries, short & feature films, commercials, and more. It is also great camera for when the production requires a more Run & Gun setup.
Tilta Nucleus M, Hollyland Cosmo C1, & Small HD Ultra 5
First Assistant Camera Kit
I have refined this 1st AC Kit over time that I have used many times personally and have had my 1st AC’s use with no issues. It has been battle tested and works flawlessly. Focus stay sharp throughout the entire day with this setup. The whole setup can be very mobile and be handheld or mounted to a stand for studio style settings. The monitor can be swapped out for a 7” monitor for when I use the Ultra 5 for operating on camera.
Sekonic L-858D-U Light Meter & C-800-U Spectrometer
Metering on Set
Both the 858 and C800 help me stay consistent on set so from the project is cohesive from beginning to end. The 858 is one of the most trusted meters in the industry and can be used for just about everything from film, digital, and photography. The C800 Spectrometer is a vital piece of my kit that has the ability to read lights and diagnose every aspect of a given source. It will tell me the color temperature, where it falls on the light spectrum, the RGB value, and many more useful features.
